All in God's timing!

Hello to everyone from Lubbock Texas! Just a quick update to fill you all in on what has been going on since we have been down here waiting for our little one. We will be here twenty days on Tuesday and are a little discouraged. We kinda jumped the gun and traveled down to Texas thinking that Theresa was going into labor and that we were going to miss being in the delivery room to experience seeing the baby being born. I went to her Dr.s appt with her the Monday after we arived and the Dr. gave us some unexpected news about her due date. Stating that she was due on the 28th of April instead of the 13th.....since we had alrealy been here since the 27th that was a hard blow thinking that we were already down here with Mom and Matthias in hand and that there was a possability that we would have to turn around a go back home. It is the 15th today and Thereas still hasn't had the baby, whether or not it is due to the baby just not being ready or the fact that the baby's due date wasn't correct, we know that this is all in God's timing and that there is some reason for us to stay here and stick things out till the baby is born. We have been so blessed to spend almost everyday with Theresa and her daughter Violet. Matthias has really enjoyed getting to know them and his two other birthsiblings J'Sean and Lynessa. He has had an instant attraction to Violet and Theresa and it is so sweet to see them together. I know that some people may not feel that this is the right thing to introduce him to his Birthmother and Birthsiblings but this we feel is the right thing to do at this time and having this time with them has been such a blessing to us. We also had the pleasure of meeting Theresas sister,Aunts,Uncles and Grandparents at church on Easter Sunday because one of her Uncles is a pastor and we attended the service with them. We just feel so blessed with this time and eventhough Andrew needs to get back to work we are going to work everything out so that we can stay till the baby is born...whenever that is! Please pray for Theresa and the baby in her tummy, she is having a really hard time with this pregnancy and she is over ready to have the baby! Thanks to all of our friends and family that have been praying for us and for Theresa family we love you all and can't wait to introduce you to our new little member of the McCune family!

It's SNOWING !!!

Yeah! We love the snow and Matthias has been wanting to get out and build a snowman so we got all bundled up this afternoon and went out to play. The snow was really hard to pack so it took us really long to make this tiny snowman. Matthias loved it and I guess that's what counts.

It has been so long since I've posted anything on my blog and I really don't know why. I was so into it when I first got going and then I just got burnt out I guess. My sister in law Jenn requested that I post some pics on here since it's been so long but now I don't know how far back to go...My sister, brother and I planned a 50th wedding anniversary party for my parents in September and a huge family reunion the following day and that was a great success and it was so awesome to see how many friends and family members came to show support for our parents. We are so proud of them. They have been such a great example to us kids. In October Andrew, Mom, Matthias and I went on a two week trip to Oregon and California and that was really fun. We went to Portland, Medford, Sacramento, San Fancisco, Eureka, Arcadia and Reno! The weather was great and it was fun to go and just hangout while Andrew worked. We did have fun with him in San Francisco because he was off on the weekend and could sight see with us. We have been going...going...going...and are looking forward to staying home for the holidays.

We decided to drive out to Emmett to visit the Wilson's today! It was so nice out at their house! Matthias enjoyed petting all of the animals and playing with the girls and I had a great time just hanging out with Sarah and catching up!

It was so hot on the 4th of July this year that we almost decided not to go to the parade. We were so glad that we did! It was really great! Matthias was very Partiotic waving his American Flag around. After the parade we went to lunch with our Niece Kelsey and went to watch Fireworks with Nana! The Fireworks were amazing this year and Matthias had a great time!

We had a quiet Birthday party for Matthias this year. He was just getting over Croup and We just didn't want to have tons of kids running around like crazy so we had a few friends for dinner and cake! It was really fun and low-key. I can probably get away with not having a huge celebration for the next few years because Matthias doesn't really get it yet. He did have a great time and it was less stressful for me. I made him a firetruck cake which took me a few hours to do, not like the lion from last year that took five hours. I gets easier every year. I always loved the cakes my Mom made for me so I wanted to keep the tradition going. Happy Birthday to my little Munchkin!

Turning 37

Ick.....already? I don't feel a day over 18! My body may not still look 18 but I sure don't feel any different. I look in the mirror and am amazed at what I see! Who is that woman? I do feel so blessed however at what my 37 years has brought me...we are all happy and healthy, I have a totally sexy husband who is hard working for his family and loves me without a doubt, my yummy Matthias whom I have waited all of my life for and some really great friends! It seems to be going by too fast for my liking. I guess we just have to take everyday as if it were our last and be thankful for what we have.

We went out with Andrea and Scott on Saturday for my Birthday for drinks and a movie, we had a great time. We went to see Twilight and I was a little disappointed in the first movie after reading the book. I thought it would have been way more intense, maybe because I am so "in love" with Edward. He makes me melt! Sorry Andrew!!! I just heard that there will be a second movie this morning so that makes me really happy! I just don't know if I will be able to get anyone to go see it with me, I was the only one out of the group that liked it!

Poop on the Potty!

We celebrated my Dad's 70th Birthday on Saturday night. We had friends and family over to our house for a party. We had a great time! I Love you Dad, you are such an amazing man and a great role model for Matthias!

Halloween

We had a great time on Halloween! We had some friends and family over for pulled pork sandwiches, baked potato salad and baked beans. Then we went to Boise First for "Trunk or Treat"! This was a totally new thing to me as of last year, people decorate their car trunks and then you go around and Trick or Treat at them. The kids have alot of fun and then you go inside for carnival games. We left at 7:30 and went Trick or Treating! It was so fun to watch Matthias say ......"Trick or Treat" by the end of the night he was really getting the hang of it and was asking for...one more and then two more...the funny thing is people would just give him more! Too cute right now but we will have to teach him better manners! I can't blame people though, I'd give him more too! Such a cutie pie! Growing up too fast! Poor Mama.

Mom's 67th Birthday Brunch

My sister Lynn and I put together a brunch for my Mom for her 67th Birthday! All of my Aunties were there to celebrate with us ! Mom had no idea that everyone would be there and she cried, she was so happy to see everyone! It was great to see everyone. After brunch we went down to all the quaint shops down in Sumner and shopped the afternoon away! It was so much fun! I Love you Mama! Happy Birthday!

Brent's Big 40th!

We had a blast at Brent's Birthday party! He was so excited! We ate and partied all night! Well, we partied til we were tired which was about 10pm. I guess this means that we are getting pretty old! We did have a great time and we all pitched in and bought Brent a recliner for his Birthday! He's an old man now, the big 40.....and I will always be able to say that since he's three years older than me! Hee! Hee!

We were just getting ready to go out to dinner on Wednesday night and Andrew took this picture of us. How did my Baby get soooooo big? He will be 2 next month and I don't know where the time went. It makes me a little bit sad to see him getting so big so fast. Why can't time slow down for just a few years, everyone says that every stage of your childs life is wonderful and I believe it but I wish that it didn't happen so fast.

I have been getting Matthias ready for his haircut for about a week now. The last few times he had his hair cut he was a little traumatized! So, I have been asking him if he would like to go to this dude downtown named Chris at Clippers or if he would like Nana to do it? He would always reply " Nana do it!" We went over tonight for a yummy chicken chili dinner and then Nana went to it! First she got out the scissors and cut it short and then she started buzzing......Matthias was such a good boy! Andrew and I were shocked about how well he did. Yeah!!!! You should have seen the look on Nana's face when she made the first pass with the clippers, it was priceless! When Nana finished the haircut we put him in a bubble bath and then Papa gave him some ice cream....his two favorite things! Thank you so much Nana!

Oh.....Matthias' door is open and he just said Buzz, Buzz, Buzz in his sleep! Maybe it was a little more traumatic than I thought!

Last night I went out with some of my girlfriends for drinks and a movie! Good Times! We had a blast! I forget sometimes how fun it is just to hang out with other adults. We shared alot of new stories, things that we didn't know about each other. Probably TMI if you know what I mean. That's what happens when you mix us with Maragritas and Long Island Ice Teas! Yummy! So....sorry if I totally ruin this movie for you but I was really disappointed in it. I won't say the name of it but I hate it when you watch a tear jerker and then at the end somebody DIES!!!!! Why go through all of that crying if there isn't going to be a happy ending? Dumb! Dumb! Dumb! What do I know, it will probably win an Oscar or something. Anyways, thanks ladies for such a great night! Sorry that I am so wild and crazy. I don't think that Andrea is ever going to a movie with me again. I may have to bring some duct tape next time! Hee! Hee!

Food Glorious Food

Okay so everyone knows that my little squirt is not a big eater right? Ya...well Matthias and I went to Sam's club today with Nana and Papa and we sat down to have some lunch there. Matthias didn't eat much as usual, no biggy. Papa goes up to the counter and orders a cup full of frozen yogurt and Matthias proceeds to eat the entire thing. Then we go over to their house and sit down to dinner, again Matthias eats nothing. My Mom gets up and makes him a bowl of alphabet soup with crackers and the child just porks it down! I told my parents that I was going to drop him off with them so they can fatten him up and potty train him while their at it! It's amazing what my Mom can get this child to do! I guess she has had 42 years experience on her side. Since I only have 2 years under my belt I can relish in the fact that someday I will have this parenting thing under control!

No sleep for the wicked!

I thought that as you get older the myth was that you don't need as much sleep. I prove to differ! Man, I have had insomnia ever since I can remember and it just keeps getting worse. I think for me lately I feel like the only time I have to myself is when Matthias goes to sleep so even when I am tired and could probably go to sleep, I don't want to. Something about getting up the next morning and doing it all over again. Well...to my fellow insomniacs...goodnight and sweet dreams!

I'm a virgin

So....I am a blog virgin. I can't believe that I am starting a blog of my own. I have been stalking other peoples blogs for awhile now and I guess that this is the right thing to do. I went scrapbooking on Saturday night with my friend Andrea and we met some ladies there that were pretty cool. So, at the end of the night Andrea asked them if they had a blog or were on facebook. They had both. I felt like a total reject! I can tell you that it has taken me about two hours just to get this far. Hee! Hee! Maybe tomorrow I will figure out how to post a picture or two. ........till tomorrow
